George Akid

George is rapidly becoming one of the growing stars of the entertainment world. Having worked in pretty much every aspect of theatre, TV and voiceover -  George's knowledge and experience is widely respected.

George began his professional career donning the world-famous Butlin's Redcoat in Bognor Regis. Whilst there, George developed his craft and worked alongside some of the UK's best stars including Stephen Mulhern and BBC TV's, Mister Maker. After that, George travelled the UK working in many loved seaside destinations including a summer season in Blackpool where he spent his time entertaining thousands of holidaymakers of all ages always proving to be a hit.

George's other work includes: Scooby Doo Live: All the Fun of the Fair (Warner Brothers), The Furchester Hotel Live! (Sesame Street Workshop; Cbeebies) and Mr Bloom's Allotment (Cbeebies). George's voice can be heard around the UK and the world ranging in styles and characters. Every year, George is called upon to help keep the magic of Christmas alive by providing the voice of Father Christmas. From live stage shows to radio ad's, George has been defined as 'the voice of Christmas'.

George has been lucky enough to work around the world. George spent three months in Dubai entertaining millions of visitors at one of the UAE's largest visitor attraction as part of their street entertainments team. Alongside this, he helped Chotta Bheem defeat the evil spirits of Baron on Dubai's largest stage. From there, George went to perform onboard the Amorella (Viking Line) between Finland and Sweden with a unique and one-of-a-kind magic show. Regardless of any language barrier, George left the stage to a happy audience and applause every night.

 

2020 saw George begin touring with the worlds longest running children's TV show - Sooty! Delighting families up and down the country, George has been helping keep the magic of Sooty alive with fun, mayhem and a lot of mess. Alongside this, in 2021, George joined the family at Crafters Companion on their online TV channel - Crafters TV! Joining Sara Davies, George has now become a firm favourite on the channel interacting with the virtual audience and demonstrating some of the crafting worlds most sought after items.

However, George’s biggest love has always been pantomime and has been fortunate enough to play most panto roles from comic to villain and his favourite - Dame. Georges panto credits include Ugly Sister in Cinderella at The Academy Theatre, Barnsley; Widow Twankey in Aladdin Rocks & Dame Victoria Sponge in Whittington Rocks (Bourne Leisure). 2018 saw George join Evolution Productions where he has undertaken many roles including: PC Pongo in Aladdin at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil; Ugly Sister in Cinderella at The Garrick, Lichfield and The Hawth, Crawley & Herman the Henchman in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the The Garrick, Lichfield (Evolution Productions). 2023 saw him heading to The Alban Arena in St Albans as Charlie in The All New Adventures of Peter Pan!
